First of all, we would like to congratulate you; you are getting married and have found the perfect venue!

We will be happy to assist you in making this special day an unforgettable experience in the heart of Bern. With options tailored to you, from the beautiful ambience and decorations in your style to the perfect menu, we leave nothing to be desired.

To answer your initial questions in advance, you will find some explanations below. Of course, we will be happy to provide you with further information.

Organizational matters

Yes, so that you have enough time to make your decision, we will provisionally reserve your preferred date for you for up to two calendar weeks. If this is not enough time for you, we will be happy to consider extending the option.

The above points will be finalized approximately two months before the start of the event.

The guaranteed number of guests must be communicated to the casino no later than three working days before your big day. This number will be used as the basis for billing, even if the actual number of guests is lower. If more guests arrive than the number of guests notified, the casino cannot guarantee that it will be able to provide the additional services. The additional consumption will be charged at cost.

This depends on the room occupancy on that day and the desired room set-up for your party. We will be happy to discuss this with you individually.

We will be happy to provide you with a gift table for the festive season. So that you don’t have to transport your presents late at night, we can store them until Monday of the following week at the latest. Please note that we accept no liability for the gifts.

We are happy to organize childcare for children from the age of 2. We have toys and entertainment facilities which we are happy to provide. If there is no space for childcare in your party room or you would like a separate room, we will be happy to check whether an additional room is available for hire.

Services and price overview

The inclusive services for the rooms are as follows:
Seating with our own furniture and a basic sound system for speeches is included in all rooms. In the Foyer South and Burgerratssaal, we also provide you with a projector with screen or a flat screen free of charge. The price for the Great Hall includes a guarded checkroom.

A deposit of 2/3 of the total room rental is due 6 months before the celebration.

We would be happy to show you a symbolic calculation with average prices and for 100 people, which budget you can roughly use as a guide.

Reception with aperitif:
Room rental depending on room approx. CHF 1’600
Catering approx. CHF 26/person plus drinks approx. CHF 25/person = 5’100

Banquet:
Room rental depending on room approx. CHF 3100
4-course menu approx. CHF 77/person plus cake CHF 15/person = 9,200
Drinks (mineral water, wine, beer, long drinks and spirits) approx. CHF 75 = 7,500

All prices represent an average price, are not all-inclusive prices and are based on our experience. Drinks are always charged according to consumption.

Culinary delights

Convince yourself of our cuisine with a table reservation in the Casino’s à la carte restaurant.

A trial meal of your festive menu is possible on the first Monday evening of the month after definitive confirmation and on request and advance notification. The menu price and drinks will be charged in full.

Please note,
… that there are dishes that can only be prepared for a certain number of people. (such as aperitifs, buffets and cakes)
… that some components can only be tasted in an adapted form. (e.g. adapted preparation of the meat component for 2 people)
… that the plates and portion sizes, as well as the serving method, may change from the rehearsal dinner to the wedding day.
… that food is a natural product that can vary depending on the season and producer.

The wines by the glass can be tasted free of charge. Bottled wines can be tasted at the regular price in the restaurant or at home with a 20% discount “over the counter”.

Casino Bern has a very large selection of wines, and our sommelier will be happy to advise you personally. However, if your personal favorite wine is not available in our selection, we will consider an individual order. We ask for your understanding that in this case a fixed number of bottles must be ordered and purchased in full by you. If it is not possible for us to procure your desired wine, you can also bring it with you. In this case, a tapping fee of CHF 35 per 75cl wine bottle and CHF 60 per 150cl wine bottle will be charged.

No. The drinks at your wedding are charged according to individual consumption. This means that you do not pay a cost-intensive flat rate for pregnant women or people who do not consume alcohol, for example. We will be happy to provide you with guidelines based on our experience for your budget calculation.

We are proud to have an excellent banquet kitchen that is happy to cater to your wishes. We are happy to adapt our seasonal menu suggestions to your taste and also incorporate your favorite dishes. We also offer a suitable selection for your vegetarian and vegan guests. External catering is not possible at our hotel, but you can of course bring your own wedding cake. In this case we charge CHF 5 per person and place setting.

Set-up and decoration

We do not have any chair covers ourselves, but we work with a partner company that offers a large selection. However, not all covers fit the existing chairs. This must be checked individually.

We are happy to prepare and print menu cards in the standard casino look. Three of these are included per table. If you would like your own design, we can print the cards by arrangement (subject to a charge). Table numbers in the standard look are also included.

For banquets, a simple standard table decoration is already included. We also have additional decoration material such as candlesticks available for hire. If you want to create a very special look, we are happy to work with our external partners for the decoration. Your contact person from the event team will be happy to advise you.

For the banquet, we offer round tables suitable for up to eight people and long tables, also suitable for a wide banquet table. We are happy to set up your aperitif or bar area with bar tables and bistro tables with three chairs. Lounges are available on the terraces when the weather is fine.

All the above-mentioned material is included in the room rental, as well as the corresponding table linen.

If you require special furniture, we will be happy to organize this for you at a charge.

Music and entertainment

All rooms are equipped with a music system for background music. Use is included in the room price. For bands, DJs or party music from the band, we offer suitable technical equipment and technical support (subject to a charge). We are happy to make arrangements directly with the band and DJ and provide a suitable offer.

We will be happy to help you organize the right entertainment for your party. We will find out your requirements in a personal consultation and then make appropriate suggestions. We charge 15% of the artist’s fee for the arrangement.

The Great Hall and the Burgerratssaal are already equipped with a stage. We also have mobile stage elements that we are happy to provide in the room (subject to a charge).

As a concert hall, we have a large Steinway D-274 concert grand piano, a smaller Steinway B-211 grand piano and two upright pianos available for hire.

Regulation wedding celebrations

No loud music is permitted on the terraces. The noise level must be kept low from 10 pm. In the rooms and with the windows closed, parties are possible until 3.30 am. In some rooms we have to apply for an overtime permit for a fee.
From midnight, a night-time surcharge will be charged per hour and person for the service manager(s) and employees on duty.

We want to counteract the pollution of ecosystems by plastics and therefore cannot support the release of balloons. Helium balloons are also not permitted in the Great Hall and Burgerratssaal. However, this does not mean that you have to do without balloons unless they are filled with helium.

The Casino Bern is located in the Unesco World Heritage Site of the Old Town of Bern and is a listed building. The setting off of fireworks on the premises and in the city center is therefore prohibited. Furthermore, the launching of sky lanterns is not permitted for fire safety reasons.

Approach

The Casino Bern is located in Bern’s old town, between the Bundeshaus and Bern Cathedral.

You can reach the casino on foot from the train station in ten minutes. The nearest public transport stop is “Zytglogge” and can be reached by streetcar numbers 6, 9 or 8 as well as bus numbers 10, 12, 19 and 7.

The Casino Bern does not have its own parking spaces. Opposite the Casino Bern is the public casino parking lot, which can be used. We will be happy to provide exit tickets for your guests, which will be added to the total bill. Reservations for parking spaces are unfortunately not possible.
