Where history meets modernity, the Burgergemeinde Bern has created a great meeting place for the city and the region.
Since its opening in 1909, it has been the cultural and social meeting place in the heart of Bern – and will remain so in the future. For over a hundred years, it has exuded a unique atmosphere and grandeur; the list of illustrious names such as Louis Armstrong, Grace Kelly and Herbert von Karajan now continues. Concerts, other cultural events as well as business events, banquets and much more fill the rooms steeped in history. The Burgergemeinde, owner of the casino, runs the catering facilities itself under the management of Nicolas Röthlisberger.
The Burgergemeinde restored the late baroque, classicist building for around 78 million francs and reopened it in September 2019. In line with the motto “Back to the future”, care was taken during the renovation to stay as close as possible to the original from 1909.
